You can submit a Bad Date Report by:

  • You can also sit with a WISH staff member and fill out the form together. Please contact our InReach team, request a visit from the MAP Van, or reach out to any staff member you feel comfortable with for support.

A “Bad Date” is anything that you don’t want to happen to yourself or anyone else. These experiences range from feeling uncomfortable about a date or someone being rude, to refusing to pay, stealing, threatening, acts of aggression, and all types of violence.

WISH collects Bad Date reports anonymously to create the Red Light Alert.

Bad Date reports are compiled and listed on the front page of the Red Light Alert. On the back page there is a list of high-risk offenders provided by the Vancouver Police Department or RCMP.

This safety tool is distributed each week to a large network of sex workers, as well as service providers who are in contact with those working in the sex industry. It’s a way for sex workers to help protect each other, and ensure that relevant agencies and service providers become aware of predators in the community.

BC Bad Date and Aggressor Reporting Project

While Bad Date reporting systems exist in Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops, and Prince George, there is a project underway that will allow warnings to be shared with more workers, including those in rural and remote areas.

The BC Bad Date and Aggressor Reporting (BC BDAR) Project is creating a Bad Date reporting system for sex workers across BC.
