40th Anniversary

WISH began as a drop-in for workers in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade in 1984. Since then, WISH has grown to become the largest sex worker support organization in Canada.

For 40 years, this organization has been a refuge and an essential point of contact for community.

Located on the unceded, stolen lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations, WISH’s connection to the land is central to the work we do and our efforts to decolonize that work.

In recognition of this incredible milestone, WISH will be sharing memories and milestones throughout the year, and inviting you to celebrate at an in-person event this fall.
